Preface: My journal has been set to private.
I didn't know that I was putting veganism on my gratitude list on the same day that an angry fatsecret vegan was responding to Pam-u-la's post with a rant about how vegetarians, meat eaters, and people who are "mostly vegan" like me are selfish, disgusting murderers. I want to make it clear that although I Iove being vegan, I do not hate or judge others for choosing differently. Everyone else is free to make their own choices and I will love them just the same. I made a post in the thread arguing for compassion. I'm scared I'll be the target of a new rant but if so I will exercise my compassion and do my best not to let it get to me!

I read the exact same rant. I simply told this individual that I eat in a vegan manner simply for health reasons with no ethical attachment. She was abit of an extremest and I have dealt with these type of individuals more then once.
Please do not allow it to bother you. It was only her opinion, if there is any backlash in regards to any response you gave, you can be reassured that I will stand in your corner! Take care and thank you for still allowing me to see your journal.

The only thing about being on the internet...people can say what they want and remain incognito. Such a shame. I eat meat and I love animals...so I try to shop at stores that sell meat that has been humanely raised and don't apologize. I never fear that my buddies will judge me. If they don't like me I think there is a way to unbuddy me. :) Glad we are buddies cindylynnwho.

Awww, I am glad too, Neptunebch. I feel like this is a reminder to not get into too many internet conversations- more than in person, people do say whatever they want, and I do mean whatever! in person I think some people's filters serve them better.
