Thanks! The farthest gray one is our mama cat 🐈. The others are male. The 4 kittens were playing under my chair as they gave up begging when they couldn’t figure out how to get to my plate lol. Such a beautiful day i decided to have lunch outside and check FS after :). One male kitten and 3 female.

They're alll gorgeous. :) I got a whole bunch, plus I feed (and de-flea, de-worm and check him all over once a day) a stray. Tried to integrate him with my gang, but he beat them all up. :( Funny thing is, the stray is more cuddly then my gang. Hahaha. Also help trap strays/ferals when I see new ones for a local charity (they then get tested for deseases, neutered and released unless possible to rehome as pets). Love kitties!!!

We also have two strays. Big Tom and Bigger Tom(he’s huge; hubby named them and isn’t very original haha). I like them but they beat up my boys too. Mama cat has enough and usually jumps in the middle. Bigger Tom fights back so I usually run him off if I can break them up. You don’t mess with my mama cat! Big Tom is a bit afraid of her so will back off lol. Big Tom is cuddly but my big black Tom is the most cuddly. You can turn him on his back and run his belly! Horses (4) are my fav then cats(8) ;). I can take or leave dogs but we have Roxie Dog (another original name haha) and I believe 19 chickens at last count. It’s nice of you to help the shelter :).

Thanks all. Yes they are healthy. None of these have had vet care at all or any meds ever. They catch mice front the surrounding fields, have access to the dog feeder and we dump 4-6 cups of food out during times when there aren’t many mice or when it’s super hot/cold. These all came from rescues. People moving and couldn’t take their animals so we took them. I’ll take any cat that has claws as long as the previous owners don’t mind that they are outside. We have coyotes so there’s that as well. We have a big shed they can get into as well as a woodshed they make tunnels in and a few dog houses our picky dog has abandoned. As long as they come home at night they are safe.

Our one cat has a cat-house on the front porch she uses in winter. Most of the time she chooses to stretch out in the sun on top of the car or picnic table. She is a night hunter and helps keep down our mouse population. Farm cats have important jobs around the place.

Granny, I actually got hubby to help me and we made a cat house. Complete with real wood shingles. Not a single cat would use it for more than a few minutes and we had 15 then! I’d rather see any fully clawed cats come here and have a chance than risk being put down. The shelter here won’t let me take any being put down as they say it’s more humane than them possibly getting hurt, run over or meet a predator on the farm. They’ll gladly charge me $75 each of I make them all house cats but hubby said no as we have two inside :/.

We don’t have grain right here, it’s about a mile away so we don’t have that worry(there are cats there to handle those mice). We are surrounded by fields on 3 sides though and during harvest the cats just wait by the fence for the mice to come running out lol. I haven’t seen a mouse in this house in the 8 years we’ve lived here. Our chickens go nuts for mice too! They sneak in to get the chicken food and the hens act like cats! The one who ‘wins’ it parades it around until another hen side swipes her, she drops it and someone else gets it. They’ve been known to throw them up in there air as well. I’d prefer the cats get the mice as it’s a quicker end for the mice.

Haha ok cat corral! I’d love to have many more but feed gets expensive and the adults we have now do well on keeping the mice population down most of the year. Our dog likes them too! She prefers moles though and we don’t have mole holes for about half a mile around us lol. I’ve thought about renting her out!

Cats are so funny! We had one that followed the dog around -- or maybe the dog followed it. They could always be seen together, like good buddies. Sometimes they shared the doghouse, when weather was bad. Or both napped on the roof of the doghouse!

Our dog dislikes cats. The orange Tom there LOVES the dog!! Finally Roxie dog decided to stop snapping at him and started hiding. Now she just takes his loving lol. He especially loved to run all over her face haha. I’m willing yet he WILL be near the dog as long as she’s near the house. He sneaks up while she’s laying on the porch and carefully lays beside her then inches closer until he’s practically on top of her haha.
