looking for personal opinions. My husband went to the doctors and they took his weight and it was 5 lb less than our home scale. Which scale should we believe?

since you are not going to use the scale at his doctors office the only way you can moniter is to use what you have. if you need to calibrate it see if that is an option. he could change his weight quickly after drinking water or going to the bathroom so that will be near impossible to have it match later in the day

Can your scale be adjusted or calibrated. Weigh something that you know the weight of for certain (20lb bag of dog food, a barbell, ext.) and use that as a reference.

I will have to see if it can be calibrated. There was no button for it. Also he weighed himself before he went to the doctors and he went straight there so one or the other is right

Use your home scale. That is the one that you are using all the time. It is your consistent point of reference. You are not weighing, nude every morning when you get up on your doctor’s scale. Like someone else said, weigh something known just to make sure your scale is reasonable accurate to a known item.

clothes, food, water all and some weight. on average I usually hear a difference of 2-5 pound difference from patient's.(work in medical office) keep track with the home scale since it is used more often and try not to worry about the discrepancy
