robertdrinkwater's Journal, 19 July 2018

Back in 2013 I used this site to reduce weight to help my Ultra running. I got down to around 185 Lbs. Unfortunately over the years I put it all back, even though I run 30 to 50 miles a week. Now having experienced a mini-stroke I look at junk food in a whole different light. The Dr has put me on high blood pressure meds, high Cholesterol meds and Aspirin. Ten years ago I didn't want to go on meds when recommended, well a close brush with death has changed that thinking. I got my blood pressure monitor off Amazon yesterday and been playing around with it, interestingly my BP is normal. Visiting the Dr on Friday to make sure it is calibrated. Having fun with my diet. At the supermarket yesterday looking at all that food I used to consume thinking not this time - the mental part of dieting is the hardest. So here's me at 200 Lbs. I'm 6'2" and 61. Back in my 30's I weighed between 175 - 180 so I know I can get down to 180. My wife and youngest daughter are currently dieting as well, following their own plan, so we are all encouraging each other.

You don’t look overweight! it’s interesting that even with running so much each week, your diet has caused health issues. Best of luck to you! I hope these changes bring you back to a healthy physical state.

Momma6224– the foods you eat are what keep you alive. People who kid themselves into thinking that as long as they are within a calorie structure that they can maintain their health are deluding themselves. Your body needs nutrition far beyond CICO, HFLC, IF. There are so many micro nutrients that are important for LOMG TERM LIFE not just wt. loss and maintenance.
