I can have a baked potato? I thought that was one of the ultimate sins?

Depends on your diet/woe rosesblue. Honestly I don’t have them much, maybe once a week. I used to have them 6-7 times a week! The butter, sour cream etc make it worse in my opinion. 1T real butter and 1oz cheese for 220 calories is all I’ll add for a huge baked potato I also ended up eating only half and gave the rest to my kid.

If you are doing Keto I don’t think you can have any potatoes without throwing yourself out of ketosis. If you go by CICO then you can have it as long as you don’t go over your calories. If you are doing IIFYM then you can have it as long as it(carbs) balances with your fats and protein. I personally do CICO and am trying to find what works best for my macros. Keto isn’t for me as I love carbs too much and don’t care for a lot of fats other than butter and cheese.

It was! I had a malt yesterday and lactose intolerant so I paid for it last night and today. Seems we all caught a slight virus as well. Haven’t wanted to eat since lunch yesterday so I’m making foods that I don’t eat often lately to entice myself to eat ;). I still only ate 80% of the meat and about half the potato. I’m weak every time I even walk around so it’s tons of fluids (water and tea) and eating what I can and what settles well. The gym tomorrow may be interesting and I may have to ask the trainer if I can go with lighter weights or up them and do 3x3 rather than 3x12. I’d rather up them and get done faster as just cutting up the kids’ steak made my arms shake.

lol, you're making all of us drool over your baked potato! looks so good! If you do equal amounts of carbs and protein with double servings of green veggies, you'll lose weight fast.

I’ve tracked calories in and out as well as weight, body measurements and macros since 3-19-2018 and there isn’t a pattern. I DID lose more in March and first of April while eating more veggies and cutting out most of restaurant meals and candy/junk snacks. I’m assuming based on what I read that it was the normal quick drop everyone sees at the beginning of a diet though (10# in the first month and 5# for each of the next 2 months). Now I’m at 1/4-1# loss per week and I haven’t changed anything so I’m assuming metabolic adaptation. I went from 1200 to 1500-1600 daily average and still losing 1/4-1# weekly so that lends credit to my metabolic adaptation theory.

I’m also trying to add protein lately to balance out the fat and carbs but it’s harder than I thought as so much beef is high in fat even when I eat the lean only. I very much dislike eating actual fat from meat but don’t mind some juices which I know are a combo of water, blood and liquid fat. I’m starting to experiment with protein powders but honestly the ones I’m looking at are high carb so most aren’t worth it to me. CVS whey chocolate protein shake mixed with water and a banana tonight wasn’t bad. Think I’ll like vanilla better. Only chocolate I like is in the form of a candy bar :P. I’m sick of chicken again lol. Do you recommend cutting fat down to say 20% of my diet? I seem to stay around 40-40-20 with the 20% being protein.

Its funny ... as I was cooking dinner I had a lot of you in my head. One said ‘that’s my kind of dinner’, another said ‘way too much food but good job eating what you like while maintaining portion control’ and yet another said ‘did it fit in your calorie allowance and did it fit your macros?’ Can you all guess who “said” what in my head? Lol. Holding me accountable and I haven’t met a single one of you and hadn’t even finished cooking and gotten it on the table :P. Several more but it’s late and I can’t remember all the comments I thought people would make.
