Happy Wednesday everyone – it is a fantastic day. I have had a great Memorial Day weekend – lot’s of activities. I host a memorial for my Dad on the beach (tomales bay ca) and we BBQ oysters as has been our family tradition for the last 43 years. I go on this trip with some military friends and some veterans and we remember our fallen friends. A little somber but in a good healthy way. the photo is me and my Dad's best friend that went through the Army together and he comes every year - which is just awesome. There were a few new lessons learned as this was my first real adventure away from home and my routines and safety nets. All went well and I learned that I can manage my WOE at a BBQ and still have a wonderful time without being that guy who tells everyone I have “food issues”. My Niece is just amazing as she has a signature dish that she had tweaked so I could still enjoy it. I really can’t even begin to tell you how blessed I am – between my wife and close friends that have my back. They all made me feel like there was nothing different about me. The only hiccup was just time of day that I usually eat was tough to keep on track in a large group of people. My blood sugars just ended up being a little high in the evening but were ok in the morning so I will call that a success. I logged all my meals and added a few recipes so things will be easier next year. I hope you all had a great weekend following your dreams and goals.
