I have actually lost some weight! Just by gardening and being slightly more active. I am now taking 30 mg of Methylphenidate so I’m hoping that helps. I still have an appetite. Some people lose their appetite on this medication. I know what I have to do and it is just difficult to get started walking. Though I’ve lost about 10 pounds, I still have a long way to go. My clothes are still fitting the same? Maybe slightly looser? I had major back surgery in 2013? I weighed 135 lbs before surgery. In the past couple years my weight has reached over 150 lbs. That is unacceptable. I hope this downward trend continues. I am fairly confident that once I get back into the habit of walking, I will once again be lean and more fit. I still have depression and anxiety and irrational thoughts. Some unfounded, “crazy” fears I struggle with: 1. That I will be ridiculed and criticized for being fat, old, etc.
2. Bugs! LOL. I know, insects are a reality of life but one major reason I avoid walking, June bugs! Mosquitoes, flies, etc. I hate bugs.
3. Heat and humidity. I hate sweating and being uncomfortable and feeling gross.
4. Pain. The back surgery alleviated the foot drop problem but I still have pain.
5. Fear of being a victim of crime. I do not have a gun. I do have pepper spray though.
I know these are weak excuses. I have overcome things before.
I garden so I know bugs can just be dealt with.
Sigh!
