Last night Late night drinks, carbs & Star Wars Movie 🍿 56 Birthday fun. Provided by the maybe-soon-wife. So, kinda fun, kinda sucky. Best part? Shake Shack Double smoky Burger 🍔. Cheese fries ok. Way better than in-n-out tho!

2nd day of statin. Achy breaky for sure. Awoke at 5 this am rather than 3 yesterday. Suspect statin is interfering with sleep cycle. Research this and anybody have experience?
212.2 lb Lost so far: 14.8 lb.    Still to go: 9.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Switch up the time you take them. If 8:00a.m., go to 8:00p.m.

Directions are to take at bedtime. So You suggest to take in AM then?

That's how my doc used to work with me. Before changing meds, change time you take it. It's worked for me in the past. Good Luck.

Thanks. Doc had me stop stat. Sacral-Iliac Pain and gout flare. We are to discuss trying a hydrophilic statin. Maybe less blood-brain-barrier permeability, thus reducing Frickin’ Neuro FX.

Statins are the devil. I can't function on them & I've tried a bunch of different ones. Tackling cholesterol with diet alone now.

dr, are you seeing cholesterol reduction by diet? I tried a non meat based HFLC trial for a month, with barely modest moderation of lipids. Not sure whereabouts to try now.

I can't afford to get to the doctor too often, so I couldn't say 100%. Next time I do go, I'll definitely get the test done, though. With a total daily intake of 0% cholesterol & fat around 10% of total calories, I can't imagine that it wouldn't drop. A woman in a whole food plant based group I'm in did have really high cholesterol, though. She dropped her total from 260 to 140 in 5 weeks with no meds. It's actually a pretty common story in that circle, along with losing tons of weight & reversing heart disease & diabetes. If you have Netflix, watch Forks Over Knives. It'll cost you nothing more than 90 minutes of your time. :)

Forks over knives comments: watched about 20 mins, last year, recommended by a natural healer buddy of mine. Put off by several gross errors in science journal article misinterpretation. I could label as enthusiasm. But, when your 2nd expert is author of an infamous (and dubious) research article, gosh, it is hard to watch further. The 3rd “expert”, a filmmaker? . Maybe for later, with my infotainment goggles on and an open mind, maybe some relevant, helpful information will be revealed. Yah, I’m a curmudgeon, and a life scientist. It’s what I do. And I’m starting a plant based diet again for a prox 6 week trial. Still HFLC. Can’t hurt might help.
