maeday42's Journal, 03 September 2017

Well, I've had a bunch of disappointments this week. Went over my carbs a bunch, couldn't do the yoga I like cause I pulled a tendon in my right hand, posting this is taking forever cause I'm barely using that hand. Dr. gave me some muscle relaxers, but I hesitate to take them, he said those and rest would take care of it, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. How can a right handed person not use their right hand? Also not sleeping, again the stupid hand. Then I tried to make some pumpkins cheese cake muffins, gotta say it hurt and a cursed a bit, but the muffins sounded good. Yes, I am one of those pumpkin season crazies. They were okay, but was more like pumpkin pie in a muffin cup - not what I wanted. I'll try a different recipe next weekend. Okay, so I just read this, thought I was being whiny, slapped myself in the face, said suck it up and get back on plan! I can do better! :-) Okay, off to get my day going, first stop dog park.

I understand how you feel about your hand. I spilled scalding water over my right hand a couple months ago and couldn't use it for about a day (hard to use when you are soaking it in a bowl of water all day!). And I tripped over a hose outside last year hurting my foot. It wasn't broken but I couldn't take walks or use my treadmill for a couple of weeks and I have stairs down to the garage and front porch. It's tough when you hurt yourself. Don't realize until it happens how much you depend on one foot or one hand.

Hang in there. Really hard to keep doing what you need to do when you are hurt. For me, I try to break it down to the next good action - to get through. Every time I completely chuck what I am trying to do - to do crisis stuff- I always get on the other side...wishing I had stayed the course in my personal life. My thoughts are with you...I understand how it all gets away from us.
