I am extremely encouraged. This morning I woke up and I felt ...different. I don't know I've been trying to pin point exactly what it is, how I feel and I just can't place the feeling. Went down to make my coffee, pack my lunch and test my sugars. Amazing sugars were 128 (which is within a normal range) haven't been that low in a VERY long time. Then I thought since I'm going to the Mom-in-Laws tonight, I'd do my weigh in - I'm down 2 lbs! I started the Keto diet this week, after all these years of the "professionals" demanding low fat and telling me I need like 45 carbs a meal - having only 25 carbs in a day sounded crazy, dangerous even. I asked my doctor and he said monitor a bit more, but I could try it and make an appointment next month. Eating bacon, cheeses, hell yesterday I had Five Guys for dinner (in a lettuce bun) just seemed wrong. I have cream in my coffee, instead of non-fat 1/2 and 1/2 and it tastes sooooo much better. It was easy to stay on plan. Loved the foods I ate. I dropped a few lbs and my sugars are back to where they belong. I finally realize how I feel, I feel good! :-)

I LOVE hearing this! Listen to your body! I so wish my mother in law would try this. She still eats whatever, BS goes up, takes med to make it go down (hopefully). I tell her to cut the "middle man" out, eat so it DOESN'T jump sky high but her all knowing Dr is not on board....GOOD FOR YOU!!!

It always amazes me when people say that cutting back on carbs seems dangerous. You're on the right track, I'm glad you finally found the answer that's eluded you all these years, and make no mistake, you've found the answer.

I love LCHF. It is the only way I can eat foods I love, feel full, and lose weight. I was down 67 lbs. last year. Took some time off and gained a few lbs. back but they are coming off quickly.
