LadyGoblyn's Journal, 17 July 2016

It's been a little while since I've been on. Every time I think I've got something good going, something always happens to turn everything around. I had a bowl of ice cream night before last. That was the downward spiral, adding 2 lbs to my weight, and the craving for nothing but ice cream, it seems like. I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen any time soon. Maybe after I get my weight down another 20 lbs I can celebrate with a 1 scoop ice cream. I guess it's nice to know what gets things going the wrong way. I now know I can't eat ice cream. I think i'm addicted to sugar and I've read a little bit about it. I'm getting stronger about knowing I can lose most of this weight. I'm thinking positively about this problem. If I can keep most of my other health issues at bay, I can accomplish so much.

When you are fixing your normal meals, dish up some single scoops and freeze them in individual containers. Then when you are going to allow yourself that treat, you can grab one and be less apt to overdo it.

Thank you so much, that sounds like a very good idea, that I can actually do.

I make my own nice cream. I either blend some frozen bananas and eat it for breakfast or blend some bananas with coconut cream and freeze into little popsicles. Delish and absolutely no added sugar.

I make myself protein shakes or smoothies to curb the craving for ice cream.

When we get that craving, Artic Zero at 7 carbs per serving is acceptable! Also, North Star has these chocolate/vanilla, raspberry/vanilla, caramel latte/vanilla bars half dipped in chocolate lactose free that are 10 carbs! Google it or : http://northstarfrozentreats.com/?page_id=501

Another option sold at Whole Foods is Halo Top ice cream- uses stevia so low calories, lower fat and has added protein. Delicious, too.
