Recording my weight according to my 'at home' scale (vs. yesterday's dr.'s office visit... although I like fully clothed and middle of the day # much better!!! it throws off my record keeping if I don't use the same scale/same time of day etc. method.)

Hit the gym early this morning. Used a slow interval method on the eliptical. Had a good sweat when I was done... 35 min's including warm up / cool down 2.5 min's ea. 30 min's of 30-60 seconds all out...1-2 min's slow recovery... Great music on the mp3... = FUN!

Food stuff is going well. I have been 'trying' to record some of my foods - have missed a few things here and there...

Successfully adding back in variety of veggies. Had some nuts for the first time in months a few days ago... hasn't seemed to cause the same retention/bloating as before. Perhaps it wasn't the nuts. Or perhaps it was PORTION CONTROL! :) Yeah, probably that!

Had some fruit this week. Half an apple (slices) w/ peanut butter. Had some (2) watermelon wedges. Not a big deal for most...but really excited to see some of these additions AND a one pound loss for the week!!!!!!!! That is PROGRESS!

Thinking I am turning a corner... not really sure....and certainly don't want to 'jinx' it. But I like where I am at... happy that things are moving again. Totally motivated to stay true to myself over the next week, to see what new progress awaits me.

Course, with exercise I typically add a couple of pounds of retained water weight... SO, not going to stress if it goes back up... I promise! LOL!!!

Much Love,
Paula

Yay, Paula....I love how you motivate me in the morning with your little pep talks to yourself...when the going gets tough, Paula doesn't give up...I am tweaking things a bit this week but know that water is the biggest factor in my weight going down. I am so happy that things are moving in the right direction....and sure, you won't stress about a gain...now come on Paula...be honest...we all stress when the scales move in the wrong directon. Have a super day.

I'd say you are turning a corner - nice to know that your "real" weight is a little less than you thought. Big smiles.

Paula, have you ever thought about changing the time you weigh in? I know everyone says morning is the best time BUT I have actually found that my weight is lower in the afternoon than it is in the morning... and thats after eating and drinking during the day. So perhaps your body is like mine and reads higher in the morning but a bit later in the day reads lower? I am just thinking that a 2lb difference is fairly big and you were fully clothed.

Hey Pixi - all things considered, I think it's probably just that it's a different scale all together. But I have thought of what you suggested. Sometimes I weigh at the gym - during the day - and get a different result than at home. But overall, I figure this is the same scale that screamed 205 lb at me in the beginning, (naked of course), and 1st thing in the AM (after having used the bathroom, etc.) So, if I am going to be consistent... I just figured I would stick w/ the same basic time/schedule to weigh in. It could be off... I could be a different weight at different times of day, but in general, it's just a pound or two difference... and it's still ME. Still flesh and bone, and whatever it is...it is. Just a guideline at best to keep me somewhat in check. But then learning tools about how my clothes fit, and how I feel, and looking in the mirror... measuring... there are other guidelines, too... so it's just one resource. Just pointed it out to be sure others were noting that it can be a bit of a variance depending on the scale being used, time of day, if you've exercised, etc, etc, etc,. Much Love.

congratulations, you are a motivator. And if you can do it, I have to believe that so can I! Once again, Congrats.

Glad to hear your home scale is behaving, maybe it got scared you were wanting to replace it the the docs model...LOL. Seriously, I agree with the consistant weigh in time, that keeps all the numbers relative to your progress. In our heads we all know how natures fluctuations works, but in our hearts, (yes, that's the part we look at the scale reading with), we want so much to see progress. So, enjoy the progress now that you are back in your groove! Not to worry, it's all good!

I think GG's on to something here....inter-scale jealousy! Just keep working WITH your body and this nice little turnaround should continue. Have a great Thrusday!
