dbdmom's Journal, 03 April 2015

So, I have this digital scale. I don't think it's very accurate. I think it has a 2-3 lb swing to it. So, I don't get all worked up about stepping on the scale and it reading (in one day's time) 2 lbs lighter than the day before. Or, 1.5 pounds lighter. Or 2 pounds heavier. I'm used to the fact that this scale isn't very sensitive. But, today still felt like a milestone, because it is the first time I have had a reading under 170. Now, the scale might not move again for a week or two at all, and then it might jump a pound or 2 pounds in one day. As long as it keeps. Moving. Down. Whoo-hoo!
168.5 lb Lost so far: 24.5 lb.    Still to go: 33.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Get an object you know the weight of (like 2 hand weights) and put them on the scale to gauge its accuracy. The scale will go up and down every day (even hour) because of our water weight (our bodies are made up of something like 60% water. Sodium, exercise, stress, lack of sleep, and many other factors can make us retain water or lose it daily.
