Deb_N's Journal, 19 August 2014

My mom was feeding me from the moment I was born, so that's when I think my addiction to food started. If you think that statement is so true, I understand your struggle! If you think it is funny, you have a nice sense of humor. Either way, I am with you. We can do this together. Have a great day, everyone!

We may need Elizabeth to comment here, or Erika... maybe even BK ... but I think it was from BEFORE you were born... force feeding via the umbilical cord... I'm just sayin'....

Odd, isn't it? It's like a crazy, impossible to get rid of addiction. You don't have to smoke. You don't have to drink alcohol. You don't have to be involved with drugs, but you have to eat. Catch 22. It's a 'which should I' addiction.

I was born over 2 months before my due date and weighed a little over 3 lbs at birth, was in an incubator for over a month. When my Mom finally got me home she said she was worried the first couple weeks because I didn't want to eat. That changed quickly and next thing you know she couldn't feed me fast enough, as soon as I started eating from a spoon I'd scream for food during the time it took to re-load the spoon and get it in my mouth. So I can identify with the food addiction from the time you're born idea.

Force feeding via the umbilical cord. Wow, that does change things now, doesn't it? My baby pic shows me holding a cookie in each hand. I was an ambidextrous eater from the beginning. lol
