Jillzee00's Journal, 25 January 2014

Well, weight went up a little again today. I weighed myself four hours later than usual. I did increase my calories yesterday, but didn't hit 100--just under. I even had a Subway veggie delite sub and some fat free pretzels. My goal isn't really to "eat" as much as it is to eat healthy. I'm trying to snack on veggies, rather than junk. I ate my breakfast (yogurt), lunch (half a peanut butter sandwich on pumpernickel) and dinner (subway veggie sub--the whole thing!). My snacks were celery, carrots and fat free pretzels. I didn't drink any wine (took it with me to Mom's, but had tea instead). I think I am going to add in cereal with fat free milk for breakfast or lunch eventually. I LOVE cereal!

0.2 lbs isn't that much. It is probably your body retaining a little water after changing things you are eating. I wouldn't sweat it. Well, a little sweat could get rid of it.

Was curious about how much protein was in that sub? Lots of "empty calories" in that fluffy sub role. You might do better with the cereal. Do they sell Kashi near you?

The pretzels and the sub are both high in sodium, could explain the weight gain. and just a side note re the wine. I love my wine and consumed a fair bit during the holidays, I enjoy a glass or two every night when I get home from work. I stopped it on the 12th and have lost 5 lbs. I know everyone will jump and say oh it's just water weight, well , i don't really care , it's gone, never to return and I won't drink any wine till I hit my first goal of a 10 lb loss. I think I'll enjoy that glass all the more then.

I have to agree that eating healthy is the key… keep at it! xoxox

Buffy--just checked on the sub. I had 16 in protein (this is per their website nutrition site). I had protein for breakfast and lunch, too. The only thing that didn't have protein was my snacks (carrots and celery). I had 17% protein yesterday out of all the calories I ate.

Mummy--I am the same about my wine. I usually have 10 0z in the evening, but last night, didn't want any. It didn't have to do with calories or weight. I went over to my Mom's and we played games all night with my daughter. Hubby was at work. Mom drink's tea (she's from England) and I never even thought about opening the bottle of wine I took with me--LOL. I agree, though. Wine does put on belly weight, I think.

Ruhu--I'm trying. It's no good getting skinny only to get sick. I want to be healthy and thin, not skinny and sick. It's just figuring out what works--LOL. I really don't get too hungry on the weekends until later in the day. My plan is to have a bowl of cereal later. I eat Cheerio's with fat free milk. I can still eat, yet make it healthy. That's my big goal. Not to just eat to eat and not to eat junk. I know I'll be craving pizza soon, so I think I'm going to try that "cauliflower" pizza I tried making before.

Kathy--I agree. A pound or two can be pure water weight. I'm not worrying about that. I will be shopping later, so that will help me exercise--LOL.
