Firefly_Faerie's Journal, 21 May 2021

So I've officially pushed through my last plateau! I'm so excited, it's unreal. Not only have I managed to make it back to my weight in my teens, but I've also maintained sobriety the whole time. To say that I'm proud of myself would be a gross understatement.

For as long as I can remember, I've struggled with my body image. It thrills me to say that I'm finally liking what I see in the mirror. That's not to say I don't have my bad days, but I'm working on making them fewer and farther between. All in all, I'm on the up and up 100%. So here's to forward progress!

Ok, well done. Just remember a mirror is merely a reflection ...... dependent on quality and lighting, this is why we look better in some mirrors than others. We cannot see ourselves in the real 3D, therefore our contours, proportions etc., can be skewed.I know about it, as a teenager I had, didn't know it at the time, body dysmorphia, I saw a fat girl in the mirror. Now looking back, I was underweight with hip bones sticking out And I still felt fat. My mind needed to adapt to what the mirror portrayed, mirrors are a practical tool, not a true representation. We can only see close up too. Which in everyday life we are not viewed that way! We are mere dots against the world backdrop. Take care

The journey is just beginning but you are on your way. One step at a time will get you a lot further than you expect so stay the course and don’t rush the process. Be proud of what you have accomplished but continue to push forward. You are doing a fantastic job and are an inspiration for to many people on this platform that struggle with addiction as well. Stay strong, stay focused, you got this! 👊😉
