Eidetiker's Journal, 09 March 2021

Eating out and food cooked by husband has made it difficult to track so I gave up. Going to start taking charge and tracking again. It's helpful to know where I'm at daily calorie wise so I don't lose sight. I was starting to lean more towards OMAD with a snack at lunch but life doesn't always work out that way.

It is slow going, but I remind myself, my goal is to look and feel great. Cutting the carbs has made me a lot less swollen and bloated. I fit into my clothes better.
154.6 lb Lost so far: 8.4 lb.    Still to go: 9.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.6 lb a week

Skipping breakfast for 16:8 is a good start. Most important is to create a bigger time gap between meals or food consumption to avoid triggering the fats-storage hormone commonly known as Insulin 😉

Great Job getting back on it Eidetiker! Gotta do it for you. I can relate, hubby comes in with a Big smile on his face as he hold up grocery bags - Look what I got you Sweety! It was on sale. - Potato chips, Cheetos, candy, chocolate, frozen pizza, tv dinners, flavored coffee creamer. I texted before he got off work asking him to pick up some pork chops, broccoli and mushrooms on his way home. An hour later he notices my text. I opted for a couple of eggs and bottled water. Then I went shopping for a fabric tape measurer and a note pad. Tonight I got on the PC looking for aps and found this one. DAY 1

@Augusta, check out 'Life In The Fasting Lane' if you prefer a more casual read. If you love data & history, the more technical stuff, check out 'The Complete Guide to Fasting' heheh. @RandomRunner, I'm enlightened by Dr Fung's 'The Longevity Solution' too :)

Thank you for the info Bernard. I have been practicing 16:8 but have been trying to push the window further back and lowering my lunch calories. Do you practice OMAD or do you fast for days?

You're welcome Eidetiker. Prior to reading 'The Complete Guide to Fasting', I had always thought 16:8 and OMAD is some kind of fad diet and never tried them. I dived straight with Extended Fasting and lost 5kg within 6 days at the beginning of February. I used 16:8 to maintain my weight amidst the 3 weeks of Chinese New Year feasting and snacking. Fasting is more of duration between meals than calories restriction and I have posted ideas over the past week on how to increase the duration ;)

You are doing a great job my friend. I do the tracking myself. But for me the portions seem to work. I only track what I ate or drink. No clue as to what that is in calories. when I was counting and measuring it seem like it was coming out the same as what I'm doing( I guess after doing it for so long a few years back it kind of stuck as a way to look at what I'm doing ) as the weight seem to have been moving. So I decided to go back to that way of doing things. As a result. Theses last few day I knew when I had stepped out of bounds. as a result there was a gain. But hey. I'm not giving up. I've told you it is not an option. So keep up the good work. Take care of yourself.
