RebeccaCole's Journal, 25 March 2019

Got a new job, I quit being an ASM at Dollar General. I'm never going back. Now an Administrative Assistant for an Executive Dean at a school. Holidays I now get off - paid. Weekends off and a consistent Monday -Friday Schedule :) I started a week ago. Sadly this morning I got hit with a terrible wave a nausea and wasn't able to make the 45-50 minute drive to work. Thankfully I can access my e-mails and stuff from home and there was nothing urgent today. Problem is because I just started, I haven't accumulated a days worth of sick leave. I'll have to speak with HR about it. Maybe I can work 9/10 hour shifts Tuesday - Friday this week so that way it doesn't change the pay being that it's already pro-rated because I already started on the 18th (I get paid monthly now). I'm also now on a salary, which is really nice. First time I've had a consistent schedule, holidays off, health insurance (completely paid for) starts in June, and a salary. I think I've finally broken the little glass ceiling I had above me.

My boyfriend also proposed so we got some wedding planning (will likely be in 2020 Fall/Winter) Surprisingly with all that going on, I still managed to drop some weight. Not much but at this point we're looking at moving into an apartment in August 2019 or so. We will see just how soon that happens because I have a financial savings goal I want us to hit first so we have rainy day money and wedding/honeymoon money.

He did an awesome job with the proposal. Sent me on a little scavenger hunt where we had our first date and had some of my friend's help. The friends had clues and items including Mrs. Panda and a blue rose. On our first date he bought me a Mr. Panda. Blue is my favorite color :)

Thank you everyone and Klynn82 it felt like a never ending search then after moving out of his moms, really needed to find a job and that's how/why I took the job at Dollar General. It was temporary, was only there 2 months. I had 2 job offers come in, one hourly and one salary. The salary one was able to pay for my insurance completely. It took me a while and for awhile there I thought I wasn't going to get there. I think I ended up just eating something that was sour because it's gotten better as the day's progressed and I barely received any e-mails today so to be quite honest, I don't think there was 8 hours of work for me today at work anyway.
