Are there any Keto dieters out there that want to share and learn from each other?

Beckybeatty, I have done much research and my conclusion for me is that weight loss is directly related to insulin release, and not the food so much , CARBS YES trigger insulin So if there is little carbs, in your body little to no insulin is released.. There are many articles on this on youtube..My favorite was Dr. Fung, I really did not count calories or fat or did not add extra fat as I wanted to use my own body fat stores as the extra fat. I also recently switched to 16:8 WOE, which I thought I could never do, but when you are sleeping for 1/2 of the time , You will need to experiment with your WOE to see what works best for you, it worked for me.Good Luck and our journeys go on !!!

Because I recently was prescribed prednisone, I have been now taking insulin to get my blood sugars down. It has been an experience. What I have finally decided on is that, I have keep my carbs down and I eat about 1700 calories and I feel pretty good. I am type two diabetic. I believe that my body produces plenty of insulin, it just doesn't use it. I also maybe think that, maybe my body doesn't always use the insulin shots correctly, that my body is resistance to that insulin. I have not told that to my diabetic educator. So I lower my carbs and feel better. I chart my stuff, and will be talking to doctor today. I want to lower my insulin, last two days I have had to eat more because blood sugars were lowering. I could do this on my own but will talk to dr before because of my other medical stuff going on. Before prednisone I felt best not eating until noon and then eating supper around 5 pm. And, snacking should not be done. I was eating more protein, but I read that protein triggers more insulin so I have been eating less.

Thanks for the feed back DO N OK I have been trying this all week. I noticed a couple thin ladies at work do this every day of their life and are both thin. Of course there are times they eat a donut or breakfast sandwich, but for the most part rarely eat until 11:30am. Years ago a friend said watch thin people to learn their habits. Ginger dog, thanks for the info, as I stated above I am actively into the 16:8 and have noticed it's working for me. I remember the thin "me" and I'm very motivated to get back that girl!
