Weight holding steady, doing 23:1 IF. I feel another ramble coming on...
Work yesterday was intense, but steady. The last client of the day was the 40-year-old daughter of a current client. She is severely disabled, but mentally alert. She has almost no mobility at all. I'm not sure what's wrong with her, but it appears to be neurological. She came in for a full highlight and haircut, which I had to do while she was in her massive electric wheelchair. It was challenging! Then, getting her out of it and into the chair for the shampoo bowl took at least 10 minutes, and the same to get her back in her chair. I was patient and compassionate through it all, and she was very happy with the result. If I got frustrated, all I had to do was imagine being in her situation. For me, it was just a couple of challenging hours, for her, it's all day, every day. Just...wow.
Another new client was a guy I met while playing backgammon with the ex last week. He and his buddy were the ones that sat and watched us play. He was complaining about his recent haircut, which was truly BAD! I couldn't resist, so I told him I could fix it, and gave him my card. He's a really nice guy who rescues animals and does trap-neuter-release for some of the feral cat colonies in the area. It was a real job to fix the disaster of a haircut. I think the lady in the wheelchair could have done a better job than what he came in with. SMH!
There's a log cabin restaurant on my way to work than was empty for a few years. A few months ago, I saw that it had opened as a "Latin American Bistro", and have been wanting to try it. So, on my way home yesterday, I decided to give it a try. Turns out, it's mostly Puerto Rican food. Since it was like 3:30 PM, there was nobody else there, but the guy at the counter was friendly. When he started to explain the food to me, he was surprised that I knew what everything was, so I switched to Spanish and really blew his socks off. LOL! We had a great conversation, and folks, the food was awesome. Flavors of my childhood: roast pork with crispy skin that just melted in my mouth, yellow rice with Pigeon peas, black beans, boiled yuca with onion mojo, and fried ripe plantain. I got enough food for probably 3 meals, for $7.99. Tony, the owner, invited me to come for Mother's Day thing they're doing, and said he would treat me to a 'pincho', a kebab thing they do on the grill. I'll definitely be going!
The neighbors are out with their ATVs today, and I have the day off, so I'll be going over to let their dogs out a few times, and possibly take a swim, if the water's not too cold. It's expected to get up to the mid-90's today, so a swim sounds wonderful!
Have a great Saturday, buddies!

Well, the yellow rice and fried plantains might have been a little keto divergence, yes? But that pork sounds spot on! Sounds like you had fun - and how nice to knock someone's socks off with your Spanish!

Yep, Erika, it was definitely a keto fail, but worth it! I'm up 2.5 lbs today, but still in the range I'm trying to maintain.
