okay, so, I need some advice. Usually I make cloud bread, but this time I ordered some Low carb bread. When I record my food do I do it as 1 net carb like a cloud bread, or count it as the actual amount of carbs? There are 7 carbs and 6 fiber - so technically it's only 1 carb per slice, not 7? I've always done it on what the package shows, but it's not right for me to have an each a sandwich recording 14 and only have 6 left for the rest of the day. hmmm

I've always deducted fiber.....Seems like a lot of diabetics count total carbs...

Net carbs are an option. Go to My Food Diary, settings, and add the net carbs to your nutrition tracking.

Log the total and like Rose said add the net carbs to you nutrition. It will subtract the fiber for you. Hope that makes sense.

You can get FS to show you the net carbs for each meal and the day on your food diary when you fo the setup in the diary, or at least I could on the phone app. So I enter the full information in the databse because other people count on that, and them FS does the subtractions to show me net carbs for the day and every meal.

Cloud bread isn't bread, it's fine on a low carb diet.

Everyone is different on how they react to these types of "low carb" foods. The only real way to know is to test the impact on your blood sugar, or to check your ketosis levels. Some folks can eat them with minimal impact, and for others it throws them out... I personally add these types of breads back when I'm in maintenance. Too hard for my body to handle and keep losing.

Best advice you have gotten is from AZSouthsideGirl. Test the impact on your blood sugar levels, if no reaction only count the 1 net carb. If your blood sugar reacts go back to cloud bread and stay away from this kind.

If I'm counting net carbs, I add a custom entry and call it, "My ____ whatever the mfg/item is" and make a notation of something like 6g fiber and 18g sugar alcohols = 24g fiber for proper net carbs calculation."
