I have been here before too many times, but need to keep trying. I am in the early stages of diabetes which is being brought on by my weight.
278.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 78.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

I'm also returning. Don't give up! My Dad is fighting diabetes, too, for the same reason. Best thing you can do (and that I need to get back into) is to plan, plan, plan! My cousin is fond of saying "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail." Though I find it painful to plan each meal and snack for the week (for a family of 4 with picky eaters), I admit that it works! I'll be pulling for you. :)

Hang in there my dad is a diabetic who relied on the medication and did not address the way he ate. He has dealt with mini strokes, and other health issues, because of it. Good luck on your journey!

Since you're doing Atkins cutting back on carbs is already in your program. Stick with it. If you feel like Atkins isn't working as fast or effective as you'd like look into some programs that are stricter on the carb/insulin control.
