today I plan to go cold turkey. Im off so work will not be en excuse to cheat. I think the best course of action is to do what I did in the beginning and pretend Im starting over. SO. Im going to follow the Atkins book to a T, dont eat after 8, and use shakes (i make my own with vegan protein) to get thru this. You may see some extra posts here.. sorry if I get annoying but I need to identify the triggers and posting when I crave helped me thru it the last time. But the only way I can make a change is if I get mad, and sick and tired and do something about it.. Well today is that day. Let me add..Ive been sneaking in bites here and there of this and that for a while now. Ive said this before,Im getting comfortable and slipping back into my old ways and eating when Im not hungry, eating bc its there or someone invites me or Im bored.I need to tell myself over and over, I can never go back to the old me.. .. time to wake the new me up again. Im a active healthy mom, not a frozen dinner mom! I need to be a rock. I need to be an example. Time to love myself some more today ! I deserve it ! I need it ! Freeedooommmmmmm (imagine me dressed like braveheart here ) !! hahahahaha

And I also notice these " low carb " products are not my friend. I bypassed the bars (which I use a crutch when cravings hit) today at the store and skipped the "low carb" tortilla with my meal that I had wanted and it made it a lot easier. I also skipped the fruit, even the berries when shopping (at least this week).. I think all those products are "triggers" for me right now.. The most "risky" thing I ate was some sour cream on my fajitas..

When I followed Atkins, the products stopped my progress every single time and the candy bars etc. kept my hunger for sweets alive. Be alert to how your body reacts to those types of foods. There's nothing so frustrating as following the plan and not losing!

Same here, Mountain_Mama. IMO, those products are great for weaning off of the real stuff, but that's about it.

This could've been my journal for today. I feel exactly the same way. It's good that you recognize it before it gets out of hand. I've learned that once I let a few carbs in, the cravings for more are ridiculous! Then the snacking creeps in and I think, "just a little won't hurt", and then before I know it, I've eaten a whole bag of "healthy" chips! I like how Hunter put it... Never quit quitting!
