Steven, yes everything is still in place :) and I have noticed tighter muscles right in my sternum? That area right below my ribcage but above my belly button, I can feel a ridge of muscle there where before it was just soft and squishy

My insides seem to have gone back to where they are supposed to be Mom, I am still feeling some internal shifting when I do them and I swear, my abdomen seems flatter. I don't mean to do the TMI thing, but it's relevant to the question asked. My transit time from eating to elimination has decreased by 4 hours which leads me to think that I also was working on developing a blockage, which has now cleared away. It makes me more able to get out of the house sooner in the mornings! So I would say yes Mom, can't hurt to try right?

I have tried practicing the breathing through the nose, with chin tucked down and slowly breathing out through the mouth. That is all I have done. LOL! My stomach is so pooched out, its hard to imagine tightening in at all.

Mom, did you take choir in school? The reason I ask is because these exercises remind me of the breathing exercises that our choir teacher used to make us do in Acapella Choir, it was supposed to help us sustain long notes.

Hey Mom, if you want I can PM you the simple one I use, I can do it almost anywhere, even driving.

Steven Lloyd, I'd be interested in the simple HP exercise you use. Also for those of you who have COPD, the breathing portion of this is much like the pursed mouth breathing technique that many therapists and doctors teach for COPD. I don't have it but learned the technique to help MH with it and could tell a difference in my breathing ability. Worth a try, and the price is right!

@Steven - yes please ... send it to me! I need to do this. It is a start! @Debra - I did take choir but I was an Alto and I don't recall having any breathing exercises. Perhaps my teacher was crap! I still can't sing!

Debra, if you are still amusing your husband, that's a very good thing! When I told my parents I was getting married, my dad said "It's a long road, honey, pick someone who can make you laugh!" And he did for 47 years!!
