Addie Aline's Journal, 15 February 2016

I'm going to try something different today I'm going to try to fast until 5:30 pm today. I will have my coffee and coconut oil this morning and then lots of water, maybe a cup of black coffee or green tea during the day. If my body does well I may do this often.

I had a day of over doing it yesterday but most of it was planned, hence the decision to do a fast day. I've been wanting to try and this is a good time.

What do those of you do about exercise on fast days, I'm talking about light exercise ( treadmill, yoga and light weights on arms)? I can't do anything very aggressive I would appreciate some advice. If I can do this often I want to do it correctly.

Here's hoping everyone had a good weekend and here's to a good week, only you can make your WOE what you want it to be.

I can do this one day at a time because I want it and I need it.

After note I'm going to stay away from the scale for a few days because I'm sure I gained and I don't need the downer. I'm going to have to work really hard to be emotionly balanced this week because the 18th will happen and my Merlin is really on my mind.

Note: I didn't realize until tonight anyone reading my food diary might think I've been eating almond joys which isn't on my diet. I'm not sure why it wasn't listed in the recipe list as LC Chocolate Almond Joys anyway that's what it is.

I have my best workouts "fasted"...heavy weights. My typical schedule is dinner around 7pm on a Friday..then coffee on Saturday morning, followed by gym at 11am. As your body is in a fasted state, you will workout through your glucose stores much quicker and begin to tap into stored fat for energy. Skip the treadmill....steady state cardio trains your body to be efficient, not wasteful with energy resources. If you want to use the treadmill, use it for short interval sprints, not several miles at the same pace. For weights, why light weights? Muscles respond to work...work them, or don't work them...if you work them more than they can handle comfortably...they grow, if not they don't. They are never static.

mahjohn I do light weights many reps as my doctor said to do because of shoulder issues. I'm just trying to keep them toned to wear sleeveless shirts but not add more problems to my shoulder. I do walking because again my doctor said to.

Addie, if you have shoulder problems, I would go with what your Dr recommends. You don't want to injure anything or make it worse.

Walking is great exercise....very familiar with shoulder pain (have a slight tear in a rotator cuff), just make sure you keep your arms closer into the body when you do workout as it puts you in a much stronger position and less likely for injury.
