Making good choices every day and being healthy is the goal. The weight is a standard used to measure the results, not YOU. Try harder every day. You'll get there.

Stay positive and be happy. Sometimes weightloss goes in waves with the body. It takes time for the body to adjust to new eating habits/workout routines. So keep your head up, use the scale as a motivator, just dont let it get you upset!

the scale is just one tool of many we use to measure success. Dont let it own you.. Dont be discouraged.. You got this !

You dropped 4 lbs in the first week which is a lot, especially for someone your size. It will not be healthy to continue to lose at that rate, try not to be disappointed if you don't get that kind of drop this weigh in. As was said, making good healthy choices over the long term is what's important. Healthy weight loss is gradual and takes some time but is the right way to do it. :)

Don't dread the scales they are your friend. I agree with Jmb, go for steady.

This process is 2 steps forward and 1 step back for many of us when using the scale as our only measure of success. Other measures can be how it feels to be in our clothes, whether we were on target for measuring and moving, whether we made better food choices, whether we found some new information about how to proceed or whether we connected with another person who is on this journey. Success is a long process with many facets. What comes next is only one weigh-in of a possible many.

Redgirl1974 - Thank you so much. Scale scares me lately. I should have positive attitude towards this weightloss journey instead of being sad and frustrated.

Jmb3450 - You're exactly right. I felt like I'm over doing it already. I wanted to be healthy also and not just dropping pounds. Thank you so much. I weight my self already today. I only lost 1.8 lbs for my second week. Not a lot but still progressing.

John10251 - Thank you. Some people will judge you according to your weight on scale and that's what happened to me. They thought that the only way I can prove to them that I lost weight is by the scale.

JovialJ - Thank you. I need to take time to let my body adjust first. I'm only on my second week and I got so frustrated. My fault for over doing things and expecting a lot more. I should have done better. I'm learning.

In my weight loss journey, there have been many ups and downs. Look towards a trend. Some people like to wait for long periods before weighing themselves. I like to weigh myself daily because I believe it's easier for me to spot trends with more data to analyze and tweak. Try to think of the scales as a tool and not the almighty judge. You will be just fine...

Take a look at my journey for the last 4 months. At first weight fell off but then it leveled out. The key is not focusing on that scale. Eat what you have chosen for your new lifestyle and adjust it to work for you. You can do it!! One day at a time!!

There are many opinions here. They all have merit. These are things that have worked for us as individuals. Enjoy the ride and lose the weight!
