I'm feelin' deflated b'cuz I thought I was on track for 155.0 this week. (Would have meant a 2.7 lb loss.) I recognize I shouldn't count so hard on THE NUMBER, using it as my own measure of success, but isn't that what this is all about?

I'm down 5.6 lbs total in two weeks and that's good, so I should be glad. But not hitting this week's target -- especially after focusing so hard is disappointing.

What I believe happened is I chose two heavier meals yesterday . . both completely within my calorie allotment (so I'm sure they will filter their way through my system) but that makes it seems like you have to play a game with the scale!! Only eat lighter foods the day before the weigh in, LOL.

I know it shouldn't be about THE NUMBER, just the overall concept that I'm making progress. With today's "loss" I need to chew on that a bit before I can adopt it fully . . . more to come.
155.9 lb Lost so far: 19.1 lb.    Still to go: 13.9 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

You are right, it's not about the number. Every oz dropped counts. But if you don't mind me saying, you are losing weight fast enough. Actually a tad too fast. Careful with the speed, because you face two big risks: one is that once you're off the diet you'll put all that weight back on and some; and the second is that you might get some loose skin. Normal safe weight loss to give time to your body to adjust is about 1 lb a week when you're only 10-15 lbs from your goal. You are doing great right now.

Yes, we all focus on the number, But the truth is the number doesn't tell the whole story. You can be at a low weight and still carry unhealthy fat on your body and be jiggly wiggly, lol! Fat loss is more important than weight loss. I know someone who went down like 4 sizes but didn't see the scale move for a couple of months. She was eating lean and exercising. I aim for 1 pound a week. If I get more, whoo hooo! Any loss will take you to goal and you are doing AMAZING. So keep going.
