Today was a little bit better. I hit pretty close to goal. After imputing my food I resisted a major urge for some ramen noodles because I had no extra calories left. I'll probably end up eating them tomorrow anyway, but I'll try and plan for it at least.
I've started looking at labels again. I had a Liptons Citrus Green Tea from a bottle. Drank it, turned it over, and the very first ingredient was High Fructose Corn Syrup. -_- Green tea was way down on the ingredients list. I thought I had chosen a healthy alternative to the Pepsi that I was really wanting, but it turns out that this wasn't much better. I need something yummy tasting for my work lunches to substitute a soda.
Also, I'm really struggling with after work munchies. We have lunch at work at 7:30. But by the time I get home at almost 11:30 I'm dying for something to munch on. And not little munchies either, but the 'half a bag of chips' kind of munchies.

Now that I look back on it, I had a serious diet pepsi issue. I wouldn't of known it while I was drinking them hand over fist. I eventually switched up to RockStar and Xyience Xenergy which in my opinion were better, maybe more caffeine, taste change, bigger cans, etc.. I had always been a fan of San Pellegrino and eventually switched to drinking them full time, but after a while I just started to focus on drinking more water. Looking back again, I think I slowly weened myself off of cola to water. It took a few years, but it seemed natural in the end. I don't buy Pellegrino by the case anymore because it's size, a little inconvenient. But on those days I want something bubbly, I do buy a bottle or two. I had always felt a bit guilty for putting all those chemicals in my body; but it was so good to drink. I notice with water, my food tastes more clear and I can enjoy the taste of what I'm eating; unadulterated?I don't have a quick fix, or a solution, just some personal experience to share.

I struggled with after work (I work the swing shift too) and eventually decided that I can't trust myself at all with eating after work. That 1/2 bag of chips was 1 serving to me. Peanut butter sandwich? Sure after I eat a couple huge spoonfuls before I put it on my low-carb wrap #FacePalm. I'm not good for food after work, this took a long time to figure out. I eat Meal #1 at 12p, and then Meal #2 at 6p, and the nothing till Meal#1 the next day. This allows me to have an 18hr fast window. With a 1200cal/day WOE, I get to have rather filling meals at about 600cal each. I hope you have success with finding a WOE that suits you're lifestyle and work. It took me a few years to troubleshoot what works best and keeps me from bindging. Now that I have it locked in and that only been since the beginning of this year. My 2014 self would not believe that all this was possible. It takes time to figure these things out. Good luck!

Thanks Frosty! The way you just described yourself is basically 100% me. I do drink water though. I get most of it in at work because I bust my butt all day in a hot factory with no air conditioning. But I usually get in my 64 ounces at least, and I'm working on getting in more plus a couple of cups of green tea. And last week after work I finished off one of those giant 1 lb bags of pretzels in 3 sittings. I can't just not eat after work like you can though. I stay up late and I'd be miserable! Maybe I'll get some of those single serving of popcorn bags so I can get some junk food munch on without sacrificing my entire day

I couldn't 'just not eat' after work in the beginning either. It took a lot of small steps to get where I'm at. And still I get the small urges to eat and if I can ignore them long enough and just focus on putting the days dishes away, I can escape unscathed. I work a 4p to 12a shift and I'm usually up until 3a or 4a. There is just food that isn't safe in the house for me regardless of the time of day. Don't give up hope on yourself just yet, we're all capable of amazing things. Take small steps, make small changes and RECOGNIZE yourself when you're successful. Tell us about it too so can support you in your efforts and changes!

I can't begin to explain the place I was in just a few short weeks ago. Believe it or not, even with all the crap I'm still eating, I am leaps and strides from where I was. Those small steps really do add up. 2 short weeks ago I was bringing Taco Bell on my way home from work. Every. Single. Night. That lasted for months. I was having McDonalds every day for lunch, but it wasn't snack wraps I was downing. Nuggets and cheeseburgers, even the occasional Big Mac. Large Fries. Small steps have made all the difference. Pepsi with lunch at work. McDonalds I had rootbeer. More Pepsi at Taco Bell. Extra large sized. Add in the crappy wrap I was picking up for my work lunch and it's a no brainer to see how I got to where I am today. Those small steps will get me back on track to where I need to be. That's definitely something I can say works for me :)
