Absynthia's Journal, 29 June 2015

It's been almost a month since I weighed in and I've lost about 6 more pounds. I'm only 10 lbs from my first goal now, which is awesome. I recently went down another jeans size, so feeling positive. I think I'm down 12 sizes now? I'm not even sure.

The weight is coming off sort of slow now. About 1 to 1.5 lbs per week. I guess that is the best way to lose it. It's a struggle to keep myself in clothes as it is. No one really notices my weight loss anymore because I've recently moved and no one knows what I used to look like. I wear mostly dresses now or skirts with an elastic waist because they span more sizes and are easy for me to alter, but it also makes changes less noticeable. I do miss those compliments I got every day from customers and co-workers -- they were really motivating.
260.0 lb Lost so far: 133.0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.6 lb a week

Keep up the good work. I keep waiting for the day where I get to buy a smaller size. Down 29 pounds so far & still no real change in body shape to allow for a change in for of clothes. :/ Frustrating but I'm keeping at it.

A great achievement. When you get to your second goal weight you will be getting compliments again since then the change will be more visible to the people you just met. 10 lbs here or there no one will notice. Sure, you are doing this for yourself but compliments are always nice ;-)

Keep it up! you are doing fantastic! :) and a pound a week is a healthy rate to lose. More sustainable and realistic than our dreams of 'slim and fit in one to three months" :)

Wow, thank you everyone!! I'm beaming from all the encouragement! I know we should all be self-motivated and it shouldn't matter what others think, and in the long-run, I AM doing this for health more than anything else. But the support and encouragement really makes a huge difference.

Maurined -- when I started off, I ate 20-25 grams per day. But beware there are carbs in everything. Even packets of splenda or a cup of coffee. It's crucial that you do some reading about low carb now. Almost everyone I know that's tried low carb in real life has failed because they didn't do the reading, and they just tried to wing it. They either messed up because they didn't know what they could eat and their diet was too limited, or they over-carbed because they didn't count accurately. Or they thought they could have cheat days and be ok. Now that I've been doing it over a year, I don't really count anymore. Some days I bet I eat only 15g and others I'm sure I go up over 50g. I know which things work well for me and which to avoid. My carb tolerance is higher because my body is used to this. I don't cheat, but I will occasionally allow myself one bite of something to taste it, but not at home. I know my triggers and I will not allow myself even a taste of them. (ice cream, pizza, donuts. LOL) If I'm hungry, I eat, even if it's not meal time, but I try to fill up on fat and protein and green vegetables first. I try to eat a small portion and wait 30 minutes before I eat more. If I'm not hungry at meal time, I just eat a snack. I don't skip meals at all and always eat a good breakfast. Good luck to you!!
