aggie95's Journal, 02 March 2015

Wow, the weekend is over already!! So, I had a plan for Friday's dinner out which was to eat half of my entrée as everything on the menu was high calorie. Well, that didn't happen. The restaurant had a Friday night date thing that my hubby and I shared. Came with an appetizer, main and dessert. So, app was spinach dip and I had maybe a quarter of it and 6 pitas. For my main I had pork back ribs with a garden salad. I had a choice of potato but told the waitress not to bother. Dessert was those mini donuts that you see at fairs with caramel dipping sauce. Yummy, I had 3.5. No booze, just water to drink. So, I don't think I did too bad but it probably was pretty high for calories.

Saturday was my friend's daughter's 5th birthday party at a play room with slides and climbing things. It was good. I went down some of the slides a few times. Lunch was pizza, veggies (no dip because it tasted awful), fruit and a small piece of cake. After the party, we went over to my parents and did the farm work. I put hay and straw down, over 50 bales and lucky me got to handle some it twice! I pitched out the 2 calf pens and then helped put shavings back in. It was a busy 2 hours.

Sunday was tubing at a snow hill about an hour away from home. We got there, when up the hill with our tubes, then came down at a crazy fast pace and that's when my son said no more to ever doing that again. He was scared by the snow dust in his face and the speed. We tried to get him to go again saying we would go a different way but he wasn't up to it. I went a few more times and hubby went again and then we decided to go home. I was disappointed but we live and learn.

Last night my husband decides to have a discussion with me about our future plans. Like are we going to try and move closer to my parents, or buy a small farm or nothing and fix up our home more. I'm don't know what to say. I just take it one day at a time and wait for a sign from God to see what we should do. But my hubby wants to move on things now. I'd like to buy land that is half way between where we live now and my parents, build a house and put up a small barn. But there's no land for sale currently. My dad has mentioned that their farm will be ours one day but I also know that he has said he will never move off the farm and has told my mom to stay there too. So, what a big dilemma for us. I wish there was a way to build a house on the farm now so that we were there to help out plus we could perhaps start farming for ourselves. But apparently there is no way to get a building lot to do that. Sigh! and a part of me doesn't want to move from our current home as my son has started school this year and we really like the school. Sigh, sigh, sigh!

Thanks for letting me vent/share my problems. It just feels better baring my soul.

aggie, this is your journal, so you can write whatever you want to! It is good to record things you want to remember, and then look back at your journal as time passes. Some people would make the leap to do something, to make a change in their life. I am the type to wait and see. Sorry I have no answers for you, but I'm sure things will work out. ♥

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Trying tubing with your son again sometime. Hopefully the answer about the house will come soon.

I'm sure you will find your answers in time. Is it possible to divide the farm at all? Perhaps in a piece bigger than a building lot, but still be able to build a home on it? I know every municipality is different...On the tubing issue, I bet when you son is a little bit older he will have an absolute blast tubing - I know I did!
