Day didn't go completely as planned - but I won't touch that. My eating is going OK but I missed one of my planned meals and ended up making a protein smoothie instead because I was out of time and wanted to finish all my eating before 7:30 pm. There were also some small mandarin oranges on the table in the kitchen ... and I felt like having some, so I had two. Very tart with sweet undertones. It was enough.

I have to get up really early tomorrow morning (not as early as WFN) because my daughter is representing her high school in an animation contest that is at a college about 1 hour away from where I live. She needs to be there for 8 am so I have to leave here at about 6:30 am so that I have time to help her find the room before 8 am. She's feeling pretty anxious about the contest right now because everyone is at least 2 years older than her. I told her to embrace it as an experience and put the pressures of "winning" aside - (winning may feel nice but you don't have to win every time) - so much learning happens when you focus on new experiences instead of being number 1. I know it's hard for a perfectionist.

I had a great meeting with my new "boss" and as of next week my focus will be on putting together a Business Development Plan for the company - I already started my research for a couple hours today. I have never done this before but I am going to go for it - an opportunity to learn! Officially, I start the new position on May 1st. I negotiated this approach in order to work on contract for the next two months (March and April) and collect two income streams without having employee deductions from one (it will pay for the fixes to the Land Rover :)). I will not return to my current employer - that has been already signed off. I will work from home - unless I have to work at a client site or have meetings. It will require super, laser-beam focus for the next several months to help grow this Consumer Packaged Goods service provider business. Here I grow .......

I am doing a career switch so I have more control as well and will work from home. I graduate from school in April but I am making contacts now and doing some freelance. It's scary as hell and you deserve a huge pat on the back for making it happen. Make sure you take care of yourself. Sounds like your little girl is a shining star.
