Jillzee00's Journal, 21 January 2014

Well, still eating under my calories, but went up .6 ugh! LOL. Not worrying because that's what happens with me--a little up, a little down--it's probably water weight. Still haven't started exercising. It's just too dang cold to do anything but sit with a blanket on after work! LOL. On another note, I was really bad tonight. I've been doing so good with eating fish, salad or grilled chicken. Tonight--I had chicken dumpling soup. It says it's only 160 calories a serving (one cup), so I had two servings. I'm still within my calorie limit, but I know soup isn't good for you (sodium, fat). It's snowing big time here and everyone is having comfy food. Hubby is sick, so I figured I'd make soup (well, open a can of Marie Callender's soup!) and make a grill cheese sandwich (no, I didn't eat a sandwich!). LOL. I'm going to have one glass of wine tonight and then switch to green tea. Yep, slipped up a little bit tonight, which isn't good since I gained .6 ugh!

I feel the same way! Reading journals and learning about different challenges others are facing motivates me to push harder and not quit (like many many times before). We can do this! =)

You were NOT 'bad' last night...On a long term food plan [or eating program]... NO FOOD IS 'GOOD' OR 'BAD'... You can [and SHOULD] have whatever it is that you want to eat, but ONLY WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY! Then, if you can tune in to the subtle clues your body gives you, it will tell you that you've had enough; then it will make it so you eat less one day later in the week, [to compensate for any 'indulgences'] You must love yourself COMPLETELY! [JUST AS YOU ARE...] Have LOVE and COMPASSION for YOURSELF... the same love and compassion you would bestow upon a GOOD FRIEND. [In other words, DON'T beat yourself up over it.] I agree...yes, our JOURNALS DO help others stay motivated and 'invested' in the outcome of everyone on this site! It's GREAT! Thanks, Fat Secret!

Cheer--you are so right. I don't want to cut soup or anything for that matter out of my life where I can never have it again. I think my goal is to lose all the weight, then learn that I can have pizza, soup, popcorn--a "fun" food, but in moderation. I think I am the weight I've become because I let moderation fly out the window. McDonald's, fried foods, tater salad--way too much at one time. I know one day I will be able to have pizza and not put on fifty pounds at one time. I think the other thing that will kick in, is the exercise. Thanks Cheer--your post really makes a lot of sense and motivates me!
