Everyone has their own ways. I appreciated when you reached out to me when you saw me struggling and pulled me out of that cycle. Each new tool builds onto the next until we have a full set of tools to do this maintenance blind folded. #intuitiveeating

I think it was John10251 who wrote in a post, "those who are successful at maintainance take it as seriously as dieting." As in, if you seriously changed your lifestyle and take it seriously going forward you can do it. I think many of us, present company excluded, are scared to death of failing. I'm just learning to toddle along on this journey and I'm reaching out daily to grab a hand. I want to be able to run, so I'm going to keep at it until it gets easier. I'm following the path others have beaten down before me! 😍

For me was difficult to stop losing weight after it reached my goal because I got used to exercise and I was eating enough everyday, so adding more food than I got used to eat was hard. I have been in maintenance for more than 3 years and I don't feel it's hard at all because I never used a restrictive diet as a tool, exercise and portion control worked for me, of course I lost weight slowly but I was never in a hurry. Now sometimes I have different goals, like to gain a bit of muscle mass, lose a bit of fat, just for aesthetics but I don't get obsessed about it. Oh and I love to exercise! that gave health and strength and it's so easy to maintain when one practices some physical activity.

One with a healthy diet and exercise does not experience struggle. Obviously if you have a mental disorder and expect unrealistic results ...well that is something different

I have thyroid problems more than anything. I don't eat that much, but I do eat late at night.

Struggling as in maintenance is actually pretty easy to overcome. Once one makes to maintenance often they are well equipped with the skills to be successful. Too often some people who make it to maintenance return to their old habits a little at a time. Later they find themselves back in weight loss mode. That's why I take maintenance seriously and encourage people new to maintenance to do the same. As for me, I'm always challenging myself to improve. I enjoy crunching my numbers and it's such a habit now that I do it mindlessly. It keeps me motivated.

If one truly made a lifestyle change, we should not fall into old habits.

Always challenging ourselves seems to be key.
