I can't bring myself to up my calories as much as people have suggested but I'll try at 1500 instead of 1300. (The site suggests 2000)
258.4 lb Lost so far: 1.6 lb.    Still to go: 78.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

It was suggested I try 1600 calories first since I have so much to lose. I guess I’ll try it and if I don’t see any loss in a week, I’ll go down to 1500 and so on.

Exactly so 1700 is a deficit that should work very well. but now with ur severe calorie deficit I’m sure u will have issues when u decide to up the calories.

you've just started if you make it too hard you will give i was originally eating a lot of fruit eating even that doesn't help if it's too late

I would still do it, u know for ur health, but be patient and u will lose weight. Just gotta give the body a minute to know what’s going on

I’m 5’1 close to a midget and never did I eat under 1500 calories a day, I have lost over 80 pounds n I don’t yo yo with my weight

I first started with logging my food every day. Then I looked at my carbs, and calories, and my weight loss. I found out that 'conventional wisdom' was wrong and there is no way I would lose weight at the 'recommended intake'. For example, as I got older I had to consume less calories. Good luck!
