Fellow warriors:

Just a so so day and nothing really to talk about. I still get a bit lost in the navigation on this site I must admit.

I like to try different foods. I will be checking out cactus next week. i think they are called nopales. You can grill, or saute them and eat separate or add to salads. They have some great vitamins but also tend to lower blood sugar.

My last experiment was with collards and I love them I steam them in a steamer with garlic and at the end add a tab or two of butter and serve with lots of salt. great!

I added 20 recipes to my Paprika food app that I captured from the Web and I will start exploring some of those too. I am excited about a simple coconut cream dessert I found on low carb site. I have a few favorite sites but I do like skinnytaste.com and lowcarbyum.com

Nopales, ahhh. If I pick them myself again, I'll wear gloves. Took months for the tiny spines to disappear. Have only had them raw. Quartered, flesh scooped out. Refreshing! Let us know how cooking them goes. Didn't know about effect on blood sugar. -- Collards are delicious! -- What is standard food where you live?
