Hi guys - I'm feeling blue :( I don't know why but I feel as if I haven't lost any weight since the last time I weigh in. I've been really good but maybe I'm messing up somewhere. For example, one day i had NOTHING to eat but meat and avocado, so instead of having 1/3rd of an avocado I had 1/2...also, went out and had chicken fajitas without the tortilla - just chicken with green pepper and onion, maybe they used a really fatty oil?
WHAT SHOULD I DOOOO??? I usually drink TONS of water...I've also had some refried beans (canned, 0 sugar - should I stop or avoid it?)H E L P

I haven't been here in a week now, had company, so I don't really know what you have been eating. And YES to the oils they use to make their fajitas. I can tell you that my weight seems to come off in spurts. Nothing for 3 days, then all of a sudden the next two days I'll drop 3 or 4 pounds! Please be patient. Also if you aren't losing weight now, I would avoid the beans! the point of this plan is to find the foods you introduce in phase 2 that your body doesn't handle well. If you aren't loosing, then you should avoid those carbs you did eat that week and try a different, healthy (perhaps lower in the glycemic index) carb. What phase are you on now? If you are in phase 1 try to avoid the foods in the avoid list. I really believe that makes a huge difference. Don;t give up, I know this plan works! Just look at all the people here that it has helped! Email me if there's anything I can do for you. Thinking of you.... and go get em! You can do this!

I can't tell you how much I TRULY believe in the 5-6 small meals a day! If alls you have is some avacado and meat, well your body will start saving all you eat in FAT as you are telling it that you are starving! Your metabolism doesn't stand a chance if you don't keep it revved up. Drinking water is GREAT, but a cheese stick or boiled egg or celery and p. butter or something small several times a day will get your body flowing better. Refried beans are probably not the best choice, ... they can be loaded with fat, and calories. I believe that they are only limited on phase 2, and not allowed on phase 1. Really try to stick to the lean meats with lots of good veggies for phase 1. YOU can DO THIS! Let us know if we can help. :) Good luck!

Black beans, chick peas, garbanzo beans are permitted. See if this list works for you, it details everything you're allowed on phase 1: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/shoppinglist_p1.htm

In the end what results in weight loss or gain is: calories in minus calories out (there are some minor caveats but not worth mentioning). It's not for everyone but, you might consider counting... Good luck!

I think that the key is you do have to eat...i have been guilty of missing meals at times, and thinking that it may help acutally while it hurts more! YOu will start to loose again, just keep doing what you are doing, and keep your head up....I think that beans are ok actually....I had limas and was told they were ok...but some can be heavier in calories than others....ok, here is to having a good turkey week, and going down on the scales!
