Despite the fact that I'm snotty and phlegmmy (and I know that doesn't paint the prettiest picture), I'm feeling okay about myself this week.

I decided to fill my days with exercise and reading. On Wednesday I busted out the "Couch to 5K" podcast that has been in my iTunes library since this summer. (I had to bail on the challenge I was in due to a screwed up knee.) I was thinking, well, there are some great parks and trails across the road from my home and the weather is above 0 celcius, there are no good excuses not to go outside and attempt to jog. And I did. And my lungs burned a bit, and I had forgotten about this one really steep hill, and my calves weren't too impressed with me, but I did it. And I did it again on Friday and today!

Getting back to this place where I'm having fun was easier than I thought it would be. I really love being outside, either walking or biking. (Can't wait for all the snow to be mostly melted! Sending my bike off for it's spring tune-up at the end of January! Yippee!) And I'm trying out new yoga DVDs and getting into postures that I used to hate because they hurt. (I'm looking at you, Pigeon! Take that!)

So now I really need to focus on the food part of things. I'm exercising more that I was a month or two ago, so I need to eat less than I was over the holidays. Part of the problem is solved - there is no more chocolate in the house, and no more potato chips either. We still have some diet soda, but at least it's diet. Once the eating comes back to the happy place, the weight should start moving in that happy downward slide.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Now, off to yoga!
