For me it is the same old, same old. I keep getting in to my candy. Some nights I only have 2-4 pieces and still lose weight. Other nights, I go crazy and keep eating it. I wish more than anything I would stay away from it (chocolate) at least to lose the weight I need to lose, but, I keep getting in to it. I can't believe how much will power I have always had in the past and do not have now, pity. I want to wear those cloths so bad and yet almost daily, I mess up, I am so sick of me I can hardly stand it and it is getting so embarrassing to talk about.

Why don't you throw out the candy? Then it wouldn't be a temptation. You could replace it with something healthy, like chopped fruit with a little sugar...I don't know if Atkins allows that, but long term, Atkins is pretty bad for you anyway. And if you are craving the candy, it probably has something with your body craving carbs (after all, our body needs carbs to function!) Don't beat yourself up too much, because every day is a new day. You can succeed.

Candy is filling a need for you...find out what that need is and replace it with what you really crave (attention, entertainment, love, reassurance...) and then you will find that sweets won't hold the same power over you. When you go for sugar ask yourself...what am I feeling at the moment? How can I stop feeling this way without using food to pacify me? Also, why do you have candy in the house anyway? That would be like a person trying to give up cigs having a pack in the house...or an alcoholic with liquor in the cabinet...why torture yourself?
