Ok, any recommendations on night eating? I'll tell you my will power sucks. If I were the only person in the house it wouldn't as big a deal, I'd just keep the snack stuff out of the house. But others live there and they have stuff that looks good to snack on. Late in the evening I get bored and tend to dip into it. Plus if I get up in the night I tend to hit it. It's not that I'm hungry, I'd say it is more of a bad habit. I would have been ok last night except we had a thunderstorm and one of the dogs wakes me up every time it thunders. Once I was up I hit the fruit loops. It's not that I couldn't go back to sleep, I just didn't. Any tricks to share would be appreciated. I may just end up telling them they have to hide the munchies.

One thing that has helped me is to really know that junk food is POISON...to your body, to your mind, and to you self-esteem. When I pass those aisles at the grocery store, I actually shudder in disgust now, and all I can think is, "Poison!!" A good tip is to keep a handy supply of GOOD food to hit when those moments of weakness arise. And I agree with Jimmiepop..as long as you tell yourself (and the world) that your willpower sucks, it will. Change your thoughts, even if it sounds like a lie right now, and you WILL change your life.

I keep all other's "food" in a separate cabinet and recently told myself, "Stay Out Of There!" Also at night, I get munchies too but I'll have a glass of water or green tea 8out of 10 times. I do the shopping and I told everyone u want junk, you go get it from now on. With my FIL, I've just stopped buying him snacks, I'll get him grapes and olives and that's it, his kids can go get him the junk! Lol. Goooooood luck.

Small 5 ounce cans of Tuna are good hunger killers. At only 100 calories per can in water and 160 calories per can with the oil drained. If I need to snack at night, I just open two cans of Tuna and sometimes just a hint of goldfish crackers to add flavor with the Tuna. I also have 14.75 ounce cans of Salmon in the food pantry. Sometimes I eat a can of Salmon in the later part of the afternoon with two slices of Swiss cheese and nothing else. Calories come out to 720 total, and that smashes hunger for me for several hours to get me through the night. Evey time I eat Salmon and cheese for the day and nothing else, the scale moves like boss.

If you are not hungry but just need something to chew on, try a couple of celery sticks. Because they are crunchy and require actual chewing, it may satisfy your desire without destroying your diet.

@JR +1 I forgot about the TunaBomba. Almost a protein shake and 10X the culinary fun...

I am a evening eater. What I do is save my calories til then. I make sure to have MY snacks and have enough calories to indulge in the evening. I plan snacks into my day. I don't wait til the urge sneaks up on me and then go crazy (although I HAVE done it in the past). Then if I don't eat my snack it's just a lower calorie day!

1 romaine lettuce leaf Spread humus in the middle Add tuna, chicken, or veggies And wrap it up. If you don't like humus then add another healthy spread.

Do you like nori? You could have a leaf of that and a glass of water.

Intermittent fasting.... and schedule your eating window at night, since that's when my will power is also lowest especially if I dose off and wake up an hour later.

I buy Simply Nature popcorn (37 cal for 1 cup) and then I use some butter spray to give it some flavor. Makes me feel like I'm cheating, but low in calories. but it is Very satisfying.

cucumbers.. there isnt much to them and they are easy snacks. Eating them feels substantial due to the chewing and crunch.. I do LCHF and I dip them in dressing.. 4 oz does the trick for me.

What has kept me from snacking at night is have lots of hot/warm beverages without calories. I like decaf coffee the most, but also have some nice Celestial hot teas.. no calories, caffine free. there is a lot of different flavors like "Sugar Cookie" yummy.. no calories. I think keeping warm zero calorie drinks in the evening keeps me from getting hungry for the "food items" . Hope you try it and see how it goes for you.

I keep carrot and celery sticks in a water jar in the fridge. I find them filling and they are very lo cal. They last a long time if kept cold and hydrated, but I change the water every day.

Sugar Free Jello, always topped with lite whip topping. I can eat as much jello as I want. Or do what I did, move to the desert & give the dog away to a good home. (sorry, bad joke). It's hard when there is snacks in the house, but the jello is quick and filling.

That has been my main nemesis for my entire life. Once I stopped eating after 6pm, I was able to lose and maintain. My little tricks that work the best for me are Bulletproof Coffee also Whipped cream (I make my own with Stevia). It is hard to overcome the urges to eat until you do it for a few weeks. Low carbs help a lot during the remainder of the day, as carbs contribute greatly to carb cravings, especially at night. Look up Dave Asprey on the Internet for some great tips in this regard. He runs a great podcast that helps me and many others a lot.

I agree with the Jell-O! It is awesome! They also have sugar free pudding...butterscotch, chocolate, vanilla, cheesecake. Just watch the carbs tho....
