A friend gave me this book. Funny how a person buys a book and doesn't read it but fact is, she's pretty busy so I understand. But I do see this often with regards to some SELF HELP books.

The book is by Jorge Cruise and is called THE BELLY FAT CURE. The system in the book is called the CARB SWAP SYSTEM. It's very interesting. Calories aren't counted, just Sugar grams and servings of carbohydrates.

I looked at the recipes and frankly, they look delicious and what I have been striving for, a NOT A DIET but a LIFESTYLE one can live with forever.

I have started this today. Has anyone heard of this?

Yes! My colleague suggested that book to me. I did the "Belly Fat Cure" program and used FS to log everything. It was mind opening! That was about 5 years ago. Funny, the same friend never really followed the principles either. I liked the simple method of just watching those 2 things: carbs and sugars. I lost weight and it helped me be mindful of carbs/sugars. However, I fell off the wagon - stopped logging my intake and gained 25 pounds. So 2016 I decided to get back on track with FS. I learned so much from the FS community and other nutrition gurus online. The LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) and Ketosis (Fat Burning) WOE (way of eating/exercise) is what works for me now. I have a better understanding of the process too. Google it for more info. Pinterest has great recipes too. Actually if you keep your carbs at 120 grams/5 grams sugar (The Belly Fat Cure's suggestion) you may maintain your weight. I have been gradually losing by aiming for 50 net carbs or less daily and restricting my sugar intake as much as possible, even zero sugar. Then Ketosis sets in and the weight begins to drop. It is very challenging to restrict carbs/sugars, but you will see results as you do. Easier said than done. But give it a try. Good luck!

Ketosis sets in? What is meant by that?
