Shrinking Sonya's Journal, 24 November 2009

My heart goes out to my Aunt Patricia this morning as she is in surgery as we speak. They found a cancerous cist in her side 2 weeks ago and are now attempting to remove it and see how bad it is (whether it is in other places, etc). I know my God is taking care of her and will help her through. My mom is very upset because she has already lost her oldest brother and sister to cancer, and now Patricia is the next oldest left. There were 9 of them, and now they're down to 7, and they want to avoid losing another before it's their time.

I anticipate a small weight loss for this week, so I can't wait to hop on the scale for Biggest Loser night. I can't believe the season is almost over! Of course I'm ticked because they kicked off Rebecca last week, and she was my pick. She looked AMAZING at the end though when they show her tranformation so I'm proud of what she has accomplished. I have homemade vegetable "beef" soup cooking in the crock pot (I make it with ground turkey, but still call it the same name lol).

Here's my question to all you FS fiends: What are you going to do on Thanksgiving? Are you going to weigh/measure everything you put on your plate? Are you going to calculate calories? I need some guidance. I feel like I should just relax and enjoy that day with family and then get right back on track when it's over. But on the other hand I don't want to sabotage myself or set myself up for getting off track. Any suggestions/advice/tips are greatly appreciated!!!

My 5 Things:
*Knowing I have a Heavenly Father who is in control of all things.
*The new car smell
*Knowing I'm boss-free for 2 days and then I'm off for the next 2.
*A mother-in-law who told me this week that I'm everything she ever hoped her son would have in a wife.
*Peace that passes all understanding.

I am simply just going to eat what I want to eat on Thanksgiving. Every other day I weigh and measure and calculate calories. I'm taking a holiday. However, by Saturday (one day perhaps for leftovers) I will be back in the saddle again. If you decide it is simply one FEAST day and the next is back to routine I think you'll be fine. Think of it as an experiment to figure out what to do for Christmas dinner!!
