Ugh. Desperately trying again. I've tried a bazillion diets that allow "anything you want to eat but in controlled portions" and another zillion 'diet of the months". The ONLY diet I've ever had success with, and the one that I had followed all my life and was healthy, active, happy and content on (until I didn't when I got Lyme's disease) was ATKINS! I am starting again today with the best of intentions to get back on track - and wrestle my carb addiction to the ground. Truly, truly, truly - carb addiction is real, and it is miserable. And to tell me, or someone like me, that's it's OK to eat whole grains, or a piece of whole grain bread, or a high glycemic piece of fruit - is as crazy and dangerous as it would be if someone told a confirmed alcoholic that it's OK to drink a LIGHT beer. Nuts. I'm sick of myself, sick of being fat, and sick of this struggle. Carpe diem...
