Good morning FS friends
And so the results of John's CT scan are in. Initial diagnosis is lung cancer. These are early days and much more testing is to be done. Long road ahead. Although I have suspected that this might be the case, didn't want to catastrophise so have been hoping for the best. My guts are twisted in a knot and haven't slept well. Much as he drives me bonkers sometimes, and his alcoholism has wreaked havoc in my life the past decades, he is still my dearest friend and a pretty constant presence in my life. Could be he beats this, who knows. Whatever is to come in the days ahead, I hope to have the strength to provide the support needed to assist in the journey. Not my first go around unfortunately.
On the fun side of things, my friend in the region is back from holidays and as a result we're getting the Casino comp tickets again. In the past week and a half we saw Marie Osmond (great show), Chubby Checker (blast from the past of songs I'd forgotten from my childhood like Limbo Rock, Maryanne and of course a number of iterations of the Twist). Tomorrow night we see a Beatles tribute. 8 shows in less than 3 months is quite a privilege.
Trying to stay on the food track despite the tumult but super hard at the moment as carbs and junk have always been my solace.
