Happy Saturday FS friends
Yesterday was a bit of a blah day. Got dose 1 of the shingles vaccines on Thursday and yesterday felt fluish so laid low the bulk of the day. Right as rain today.
Was up early and on the road. There were 3 Maxsold auctions/estate sales that I had bid in this week and won. Today was pickup day. Thorold to pick up an antique oak fireplace mantle & surround (needs some TLC but will be perfect for my basement fireplace when it's done). Also picked a huge vintage Dragon Vase which will look great in my Chinese Rosewood furnished dining room.
Then off to Lincoln to pick up a Limoges egg, a sterling necklace with agate stone, and a 2X3 brass kindling box. The kindling box needs a good clean, and I've already applied ketchup to start the process. She's a beauty.
On the way back, stopped at the roadside orchard "2nds" bin for pears. Fill the bag for $5. 90 pears, 25 which I sent over to my darling neighbour.
Then off to pick up an Igloo cooler in St Catherines for food and beverages on the boat. So for a total of $77 CAD + 15% buyers premium for all 3 auctions, and a bit of driving, got some amazing things that will look great in some of my themed rooms. Just looked up the Limoges egg and turns out it is currently retailing at $459 USD. Crazy. I thought it would be a pretty "wrapper" for a piece of jewelry that I'll be gifting a neighbour for Christmas. Yup. It was a good day.
Heading out to get more ketchup in town (I don't consume it, just use it for cleaning brass) and some hazelnut butter (for me). Then out to the garden.
