Museseeker's Journal, 14 July 2015

Alas, I was maintaining for so long and then only crept up a few pounds. But then came 15 days in Italy! The food was amazing and I don't regret it. But I paid the price and now I have to get myself back on track. All the walking I did there did not counter all the yummy food - three to four course meals for lunch and dinner and gelati (Italian ice cream) every day! The Italians LOVE their carbs - all pasta and breads, rarely any green vegetables. Not much meat, but I did eat good seafood though. It was a once in a lifetime trip and now I'm back to reality. My plan is to lower the carbs again because, boy, did that Italian food get my carb cravings back in high gear! First step, start tracking food again. I've been too long away and I'm glad to be back!!
166.8 lb Lost so far: 6.2 lb.    Still to go: 21.8 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Well, welcome home! Love that Italian food but it is carb city as you point out. We all diet, and I do not think that is a dirty word, accoding to what works for our own psychology,so if you can tolerate a strict Atkins it will really suck that "Italian weight" off you. If you really want to have some fun do Atkins and the 5/2 diet. Read The Fast Diet by Dr. Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer,based on sound science. You fast 2 days, not together, out of the week . That combo is God's gift to fat girls as far I can see. It just sucks the weight off you . The importat thing, Museseeker, is you are confronting the weight gain and dealing with it immediately. Not doing that is why the statistic on dieting success is so low. 80% of us fail ! Not you, you go girl!!!!
