I am anemic and iron deficient. This is probably why I am having trouble losing weight. I am constipated and don't get the urge to do #1 often. I am waiting for my iron bisglycinate chelate supplements to come in the mail. Once I start using them and I get my ferritin up, I should be fine and lose weight. My thyroid level was good, though.

The GP was going to prescribe ferrous sulfate, which I have heard is very constipating. I said no to that form and did not pick it up. I am a normally constipated person to start with; I do not want to make it worse. The form of iron I bought is much easier to digest and absorb and not constipating. I would like to hear what others have experienced with taking iron supplements and what form you used.
