222.4 today. Miniscule change, but a change nonetheless. Didn't have anything out of the ordinary yesterday...typical fare for me, I prepared all my meals at home. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical despite the pain in my hip...which oddly did not hurt on the elliptical, so I'm presuming the muscle with a spasm is one I use when walking, but not necessarily when on the elliptical.

I sent my husband to the store yesterday for Toufayan's whole wheat pita bread, and glory be..he came back with precisely what I sent him after (this does not happen often, lol). With these wonderful grains in the house, I'm going to have a nice pita bread pizza w/side salad for lunch today. It makes an excellent lunch. Breakfast is going to be oatmeal...somehow I've settled into having that every Sunday morning. It seems to keep me full for some time, and I know I'll be in church later and don't want to be hungry. Dinner...tilapia, probably crusted with a little parmesan cheese. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day...so far down 1.2 lbs this week, let's see if I can push that number up a little today...

You continue to be reasonable and do well!!! Thanks for your comment on my journal yesterday. I love that so many of us understand each other and can benefit by hearing the twists and turns of each individual journey. I so agree with you ... making my own "plan" is what I should have done 30 years ago!!! It works so much better for me. But, perhaps I wasn't ready 30 years ago. My mom will be 70 in December and has lost 65 lbs!!! That encourages me that regardless of our age or level of "fitness" it is NEVER too late to get healthy and be kind to our bodies and spirits!! Keep on steppin' your momentum will build over time and you have a wonderful start!! I know you'll be excited to reach that first goal ... where perhaps you won't feel any longer like you are making up for lost time!!

I always think "I wish I'd known then what I know now", lol. But I'm not sure it would have sank into my head as well if I had not gone through other diets to get here. I'm losing weight, I'm eating things I like without regard to whether it's "approved", and I'm managing to get myself onto the elliptical for at least 30 minutes almost every day (I'm averaging 5-7 times per week). If I had just taken the time to figure my diet out myself years ago instead of buying book after book to follow, maybe I would have done things differently. I did take things from some of those diets, though, that I still carry with me...reading nutrition labels, something I still do in order to decide between two similar products.
