Even thought my weight loss seems to be going ever so s-l-o-w-l-y, I feel like I'm achieving fitness wise in leaps and bounds. Every day I hit a new goal. I am now doing aquarobics once a week, swimming 4-5 other days and then cycling at night as well. The plan is to increase the cycling to take the place of the swimming over the winter months as the pool closes end of April. With that in mind, have been easing off the swimming a little and hitting the cycling a little harder each day. I push myself to do minimum 10km a day, after swimming. Also trying to take the dog for little walks when I can on top of it all. Just trying to find opportunities to move more every day. Today I hit another achievement - cycled 18.25 km in 1hr40. May not seem much to some, but for someone who's still 120kg+ (but not for much longer) that to me is a HUGE achievement. I'm so proud of myself for continuing to push through. When I bought the bike only 4 weeks ago, I could not even manage to ride around the block. I purposely bought one without gears so I had to work harder. To make that sort of progress in 4 weeks astounds me. At the beginning of January I couldn't even swim a lap of an olympic pool - I was walking in the water because I couldn't swim well enough. Now I'm doing 35-40 laps per day. Super proud of my achievements. My blood sugar level is right down to normal, I'm being strict with my diet, and definitely seeing changes. Now if I can just push through and break through the 20kg lost I will feel fantastic :-)
AND... I'm the lowest weight right now I can remember being since just after my daughter was born in 1992. Yes!
