Yes it can be especially during pot lucks and events like you attended. You made great choices!

Yes. It can. Those tacos look great to me. As far as potlucks, I bring something I can eat that’s lower carb, but delicious, then just have small portions of a couple no no foods. Lol

it really can be, which is too bad. I don't want to miss out on the social stuff, but it's really hard when most of the food is unhealthy.

I'm sorry you feel it's isolating. I go to events at times where there's not a single thing I can eat ( I'm currently doing a 90 day beef butter bacon and egg challenge, so no chicken/veggies/ nothin) instead of focusing on being deprived, I focus on
I'm getting healthy.
Time with family/friends.
Foods I can have: steak, prime rib, burgers, bacon, brisket, pork belly, roasts.
You don't need carbage to socialize, you just need you 💜. get your goals 💜

I'm the opposite of Jackie, in that I'm Vegan, but it's the same isolation. Eat something before you go to the event, and remember that this is for life. I bet there are plenty of people with special diets there, but they're not as disciplined as you. Stay strong! Just focus on the socializing and activities at the gathering instead.

Thank for the support! Sometimes I can build a food item into my daily eating plan, other times I eat before and say "I'm full" because it's true. My close friends know how I eat and don't even offer random snacks to "fill space". Instead they offer yummy seltzers and delicious ice tea, stuff like that. 😋 If I want to go off the rails and eat something truly unhealthy, I usually end up paying for it with stomach cramps. 🤣😵💫 *still woke up to a -1.6 pound loss today 🥰 woo hoo!!

I eat carbs more on some days than others. Moderation is my thing. And I try to walk every day.

If you're doing high protein/low carb and getting lots of exercise, going over on your carbs every 5 days or so can actually be beneficial to gaining/retaining muscle and losing fat.
