It's all about eating less calories than you burn. I burn about 1400 per day. So I try to keep it at 1000 or below if I can.
Very small portions. Lots of oolong tea to wash the system.

It's work so far. Since last year I lost 10 lb. Very slowly but it worked. I wasn't 100% strict with the diet. But stuct to it maybe 70% of the time, therefore it took longer.

Last week I was very stricked and lost 2 lbs. So it's all good.
1000 cals per day might seem little, but I don't do anything. I don't work out, I don't have an active lifestyle, so I don't get hungry fast. I have a desk job and the only exercise is taking the stairs for 4 floors each morning. It's not much.

I think if I did exercise and ate only 1000 cals I'd be loosing it really fast.

1000 calories is really low. 1200 is the recommended minimum for women, & you're better off exercising to increase the deficit rather than starving yourself. I realize you may not be willing or able to increase the exercise & that's ok, but below 1200 increases the chances of your metabolism coming to a complete standstill & I'm under the impression you don't want that since you're trying to lose weight. If you're happy with what you're doing & the results you're getting, then more power to you. I hope you're at least taking a multivitamin to make sure you're getting proper nutrition.

When I started Atkins I ate 1500 a day and still lost. When I added exercise back I ate 1700-2000 or so. Eating less than 1000 calories a day is doing nothing more than destroying your metabolism and damaging your body. Eventually your loss will stall because your body will believe it is starving and will hang onto everything it can. It will be hard to recover from that when you start eating like you should again. Not to mention that you're losing muscle, organ tissue, and tendons as opposed to mostly fat.
